November Meetup Recap, 11/28 Desert Wind Coffee Roasters

Thanks to everyone for joining us on the 28th for our 7th Vegas Travel & Hospitality Tech Meetup
It’s with people like yourselves that our community continues to grow.

Once again, to our hosts, Desert Wind Coffee Roasters & Adrian – Thanks for the use of the shop and for providing the best coffee in Las Vegas to the meetup.

Our panel discussion

Thanks to Mukund Mohan, Scot Hastings, and Thomas Gehrke for being part of our first ever panel discussing the future of tech in travel & hospitality.

The conversation definitely focussed heavily on automation, but I feel Muk made a great point on designing sustainability & efficiency into new tech or systems that use new tech.

Some interesting content from our meetup members

A look at automation & robotics in the service industry

Beth Wi is a UNLV researcher, grad student. & member of our meetup. Her recent interview with KNPR and TEDxUNLV talk on automation and robotics are very insightful on what could happen in the future for Las Vegas.

KNPR – State of Nevada – Interview

Machines Learning – A simple introduction to terminology and concepts.

There are plenty of buzzwords when it comes to tech, Ben Grove a new member to our group, shared a nice simple write up to help understand some of the terms & concepts.

DESERT WIND COFFEE ROASTERS was created with true passion and a mission to provide our customers with the very best coffee possible, and freshness is the key to that mission. We roast in small batches and serve our customers within hours of roasting to ensure that the quality and character of each of the many varieties of coffees we offer from around the world is realized in the cup.

TRAVHOTECH was established to address a gap in the travel & hospitality technology industry – providing current knowledge and expertise based upon executive-level real-life experience to the vendor and operator communities in travel & hospitality technology.
