Thomas Pfitzer, CEO of EXP360 brings an extensive industry background to the discussion on “Virtual Reality. What’s the Reality? A Hands On 360 Experience.”, on the 26th of March in Las Vegas.
Thomas has committed a career to the business of travel and hospitality technology as a vendor and an operator working with several organisations that have changed the way travel operations can be conducted through innovative technology.
Late in 2016 he founded EXP360 in Germany. Since that time the company has been growing EXP360 to become a key provider of standardized Virtual Reality solutions across various industries. Their focus is making Virtual Reality technology commercially successful providing an ease and speed of use Produce-Upload-Playout platform for production of Recruiting, Training, Sales and Marketing and Documentation content leveraging VR technology.
Thomas’ formative decade of his career was spent in hotel management roles in Hospitality and Cruise operations throughout Europe. He then joined AIDA Cruises as Director of Hotel Operations, a key player in the development of their revolutionary ‘Club-Ship’ concept.
In 1996 he stepped from operations into the technology phase of his career. Approached by the leadership at Fidelio in Munich, he joined a team of enthusiastic entrepreneurs to build a cruise oriented software package. With his colleagues they brought to market, Fidelio Cruise, which became the leading cruise management software solution for the cruise industry.
He then successfully established Rescompany Systems Ltd with venture capital from a privately owned British pension fund. The company provided software solutions for Reservation and CRM systems in the tourism sector, later adding cruise Property Management and Point of Sale capability to the product portfolio.
After 13 years delivering technology to industry he reconnected with AIDA and Costa-Crociere, subsidiaries of cruise giant Carnival Corporation as their CIO/CTO in 2009 until 2016, commencing his latest venture with EXP360.
He holds a Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management from the Hotel Academy Klessheim in Salzburg, Austria. With a hectic travel schedule taking him around the globe, when not travelling Thomas can be found at home with his family in Austria.
