Las Vegan, Rene Morones joins the panel for Vegas Travel & Hospitality Tech on the 27th of August at Desert Winds Coffee Roasters.
Rene has called Las Vegas home for 19 years, born in San Jose, CA via a brief stay in Mexico he moved to Las Vegas. He began his career in hospitality early while still at school with his first job in the restaurant sector and quickly found a passion for guest service. Rene worked with a number of Las Vegas restaurant and food and beverage operations including Johhny Rockets, Juice Farm and Seattle’s Best Coffee.
During his time at Juice Farm he developed contacts at Las Vegas Sands through which he subsequently joined the Venetian and Palazzo properties in the Housekeeping department where he continue to work today. Since joining Las Vegas Sands he has been recognized in his delivery of quality guest service.
Rene undertook his schooling in Las Vegas where he grasped English quickly, although had challenges as the family did not speak English in the home. Self evaluation of his formative school years were that he was not the best student, but he did not lack effort. When attending Del Sol High School he discovered the JAG program.

Beyond the academic benefits of the program, Rene credits the experience for his growth as an individual. Naturally shy, he developed strong communications and leadership skills, which uncovered his enthusiasm for customer service. His view is that JAG Nevada’s role in his education was instrumental in his graduation from high school.
Rene found working in customer service roles came naturally, enjoying the guest interaction and personality of customer service. His personal aim is to be the reason why guests choose to return. As he looks to the future he has set an objective on eventually stepping back into food and beverage operations. Either in the front of the house or perhaps in the kitchen. One day he plans to own his own restaurant with service at the core of his offering.
Rene is on the path to establish himself in the hospitality industry. We look forward to sharing his observations of the industry and the future with the Testbed Vegas community.
Join us at Desert Wind Coffee Roasters to learn about the aspiration of the next generation of travel and hospitality professionals.
