A first for the community, Testbed Vegas‘ Vegas Travel & Hospitality Tech ventured into the gaming sector in the October discussion at Desert Wind Coffee Roasters. A long time coming, but appropriate in the month of gaming tech following the annual G2E trade show in Las Vegas. We gathered a panel of industry professionals with a global range of experience, hot off the floor of G2E, exposing some of the experiences that are coming to gaming in the near future.
The topic of the day was the future gaming experience. The discussion ranged broadly across a number of areas from Slot gaming, digital tables, Sportsbook and e-sports and payment at the table as well as online gaming. Also discussed was the difference in consumer behavior between the Asian gaming market and the North American experience. What will the role of loyalty be in the future?
We had a rich dialogue and were fortunate to have three people leading the discussion that have a depth of industry background. On the Green Lounge were Michael Caruso from Oracle Hospitality, boasting 25 years in the Las Vegas market, Gavin McPhail from Aristocrat with 20 years in gaming operations and technology and Darren Blinn with decades of background from gaming tech monster, IGT.
Being in Las Vegas, the epicenter of the gaming experience, the community brought their experience to light through discussion and contributions based upon a broad backgrounds of Las Vegas and international experience within the audience.
We welcomed new members to the community and look forward to the next opportunity when we explore the gaming sector
Around Town
It’s a busy month in Las Vegas for Travel & Hospitality Tech. We backed up the October Meetup with Las Vegas Startup Weekend where Testbed Vegas / TRAVHOTECH offered their expertise to mentor startups that came together on Friday night and pitched on Sunday evening. A great experience and we were excited to see one of our protégé’s pick up the judges votes. Our friends Kenny Eliason from NeOnbrand and the team from Techstars turned on a great weekend at Work In Progress in downtown Las Vegas.
